Caladesi Island was America's 2nd Best Beach in 2007 as rated by Dr. Leatherman (Dr. Beach).
In this screensaver, you'll see twenty six pictures of Caladesi Island State Park, which is located off the coast of Pinellas County in the Tampa Bay region in Florida. It lies next to Honeymoon Island State Park, the location where you take a boat from to get to Caladesi Island. The trees and sometimes desert like scenes, came from a 3 mile nature trail on the island. The chared trees you see are the result of controlled burns which are used to destory small brush that could eventually threaten plant species that make the island look as Florida once did.
